E-DISTRICT PROJECT: The Corporation is also in the process of implementing e-District, which is a state Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the National e-Governance Plan devised by the Ministry of IT, GOI. The project aims at enabling the development of content for delivery of (high volume) Citizen Centric Services in the district, primarily through the Common Service Centres, leveraging infrastructure MMPs such as SWAN and SDC.

SMART CARDS

FOOD AND SUPPLIES DEPARTMENT: HARTRON is providing technical guidance to Department of Food and Supplies, Haryana for replacing the 54 lakh paper based ration cards in Haryana with smart card based ration cards under a pilot project approved by the Central Government for project outlay of Rs. 137.66 crores. With its implementation, Haryana will become the first state in the country, along with Union territory of Chandigarh, to introduce smart cards for the public distribution system (PDS). About 54 lakh eligible families in the state would be issued the smart cards as per their category. The details of family members alongwith their biometrics will be stored for identification.

TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT: It is also in the process of implementing a project for computerization of the state transport department's functions aimed at creating more transparency and accountability in processes coupled with effective monitoring system. Under this project, a professional agency is to be hired for the Department of Transport, Government of Haryana, to implement, operate and maintain the turnkey project of computerization of transport department, including issuance of smart car based driving license and registration certificate and workflow based automation of other departmental functions on an appropriate Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
