In line with the IT Policy 2000 of Government of Haryana, Hartron would like to achieve full electronic governance in Haryana by the year 2005. For attaining this, the process of preparation of departmental IT Plans has been started. All the Departments Boards and Corporations in Haryana are expected to be fully computerised by 2003.

The connectivity issue is being resolved by establishing High Speed Communication backbone across the length and breadth of the State. This backbone shall be set up by private companies, for which the State shall br providing the right of way (ROW). The ROW policy has already been formulated by Hartron.

It has been planned to develop and supplement infrastructure for setting  up of hi-tech IT industry in the State at Gurgaon.

It has been planned to establish strategic alliances with reputed IT companies to cater to niche markets like electronic commerce, GIS, SMART Cards, Web-enabled Development etc..

Project Operation IT Brains to attain 100% IT literacy in Haryana Government has been started and it is likely to take a better shape in coming months by way of expanding it to the State level.

In Software Technology Park in Electronics City, Gurgaon  some area has been leased out to software exporting units. Also satellite communication link has been installed and is available to the units in this park. Further a high speed Microwave link by Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) is being set up.

Information Technology and Telecommunication Complex(IT&T) in Electronics City has been initiated for computer/software export units with world class facilities like Earth Station,Tele-conference, Internet, E-Mail services and other state -of-the-art communication services . The establishment of such a complex would crystallize large investment in computer/software industry.

Indian Institute for Information Technology has been approved by the Cabinet of Haryana, which is to be established at Gurgaon. This Project is likely to start functioning from next year onwards.
